Ingrown toenails occur when the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness, and swelling. In later stages, inflammation and, very often, granulation tissue develop, along with persistent discomfort. There are many causes of ingrown nails, ranging from the shape of the nail itself (tubular), through improper care and cutting the corners of the nail (cutting too short or “round” and wearing tight shoes), to mechanical injuries. This problem most commonly affects athletes. Regardless of the cause, the sooner podiatric treatment is initiated, the less invasive it is, and the faster the nail returns to its normal condition and health.
The product works perfectly for tamponading the nail fold, including in cases of inflammation.
The primary application is on the nail folds after thorough cleaning and removal of the ingrown nail, gently sliding it under the remaining nail plate to lift it and isolate it from the inflammation, which reduces the pain associated with the ingrown nail and simultaneously eliminates the inflammation; Additionally, after application, it can be soaked in an antibacterial solution.
